Midsummer Sesshin Announced for Aug 22-24
During this 3-day meditation in the midst of Summer, we will focus our attention on our relationship to Nature and the environment.
Dogen uses the natural world frequently as a Dharma gate to realization. A modern Zen teacher has said that Nature is Buddha Nature; Poet Gary Snyder asks us to overcome the duality between the natural world and city life, and suggests that we look at our urban environment as our natural habitat.
Sesshin consists of meditation, oryoki meals, work practice, and lectures. Please sign up for a minimum of two consecutive days. We will end on the last day with lunch.
Fees are $40/day for Sustaining Members or $45/day for all others. But it is your participation that is most valuable, so please donate only what your budget will allow.
