EarthCare Update June 2024 Easy Actions

Easy Earth Care Actions.  Each month, your Interfaith Dayenu Circle will be encouraging you to take a few quick actions that will benefit our planet and future generations. Please note that these actions are being done across many faith organizations in Santa Cruz County, and you are part of a large interfaith effort! 

Here’s how you can make a difference:

Email the California Assembly PERS Committee: Vote YES to Divest!. We need your help passing SB 252 (the Fossil Fuel Divestment Bill), which would require CalPERS and CalSTRS—the two largest public pension funds in the country—to divest over $14 billion from fossil fuel companies. Timely: please click the link above to send a letter as soon as possible! 

Write Congress: Take the next climate policy step. New research shows we need to put a price on carbon emissions. Scenarios that include a carbon fee will deliver pollution reduction more effectively than other policy options. 

Defend Our Climate -Sign the Interfaith Power and Light Petition.  The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), the largest climate investment in American history, is under attack. Call on Congress to defend our climate progress for current and future generations and our Sacred Earth!
